Is this a good tank setup?

That sounds like a great set up. However, if you don't like aggressive fish, try leaving out the cichlids. For live plants, try the amazon sword plants and maybe some gres to be similar to discus natural habitat. That would not be overstocked, especially with good filtration and live plants. Have fun!
