Can i change my groups subscription via email instead of the Groups Membership Wizard?

I need to subscribe to a large number of Yahoo groups at once, and would like to set my preferences along with the email i will send to each groupl. how can i do that? does the recieving group parse my email for any commands to set up my preference just as if i was adding them from the Groups Membership Wizard? tricky.. huh? :)
