Helpppp!! Can i get a job if......?

Okay so awhile back i got arrested for shoplifting at Wal-mart. But i payed off Wal-mart and i had to pay money because they also charged me criminally. I just got a job at a daycare center, they dont know about it yet tho because when i filled out the job app. i hadnt got in trouble for the shoplifting yet. Im going today to get my pyshical and clearance done, so im guessing when i get the clearance back my shoplifting charge will be on their. So to the question. Can they deny me the job even if i payed everything off and that is the only thing i have on my record, not a parking ticket speeding ticket nothing besides that.
